March 24, Secretary of the Security Council of Russia Nikolai Patrushev travelled to Salekhard, Yamal, to chair a meeting on the national security measures within Ural Industrial – Ural Polar Project. Governors of the Ural regions, Vladimir Yakushev, Alexander Misharin, Oleg Bogomolov and Dmitry Kobylkin as well as Plenipotentiary Nikolai Vinnichenko participated.
Nikolai Patrushev visited a number of facilities of UIUP and Gazpromtrans. He marked the importance of anti-corruption vigilance. “It is necessary to establish the strictest control over budget money use... and to comply with legislation precisely when working with the investors”.
Thailand Ambassador visits Ekaterinburg for the first time
Ambassador of the Kingdom of Thailand Mr. Chalermpol Thanchitt visited Ekaterinburg for four days, from March 22 till March 25, 2011. The delegation came from Moscow also bringing Deputy Head of Thailand Tourist Authority Moscow Office Pattaraanong Na Chiangmai, representative of Thai-Russian Business Council Phongphan Chansugri, and Vice-President of the World Muaythai Council.
The Days of Thailand in Ekaterinburg Festival was organized by the Royal Thai Embassy in Russia, Ministry of International and Foreign Economic Relations of Sverdlovsk Region and RIA FederalPress.
Ambassador Chalermporn met with the governor of Sverdlovsk Region Alexander Misharin, the Head of Ekaterinburg Evgeny Porunov and other regional officials. Mr. Chalermpol Thanchitt also joined a business seminar on the perspectives of mutual investments, trade and tourism development between Thailand and Sverdlovsk Region, met with Thai students of the Ural Federal University, participated in the opening ceremony of Muaythai youth championship of Russia where a show group from Bangkok performed.
Governor from the South Urals visits Germany
Chelyabinsk Region governor went to Germany to present South Ural region and sign cooperation agreements and protocols of intentions. Total 20 papers were signed, vice-governor Yury Klepov reports.
Knauf plans to grow its production facilities in Chelyabinsk Region and reviews the project of construction of one more cement raw meal factory. Preiss-Daimler announced the decision to open glass fiber and glass fabric production factories. The head of Preiss-Daimler will come to Chelyabinsk in several weeks time to discuss details.
A company from Miass, “Rifing” agreed to start up two joint enterprises with German partners. Chelyabinsk Cement Plant stroke contracts to purchase equipment to upgrade its production. MANN trucks will be purchased.
Miass Machine Building Plant and German company “Metz” also started a joint project. Miass producers will deliver up to 7 thousand light emitting diode lamps to Germany.
Ombudsman for chilren
Children’s rights commissioner of Russia Pavel Astakhov spent two days in Kurgan Region. Accompanied by the regional ombudswoman for children Alena Lopatina he visited several children’s homes, social rehabilitation center for children and teenagers and other institutions of childcare. The second day Pavel Astakhov worked with the regional officials.
