Airport
The new entity, Airport Emelyanovo LLC, fully controlled by the government of Krasnoyarsk Region has been established to replace and take all operations from the OJSC Airport Krasnoyarsk. Airport Krasnoyarsk inherited many debts from the bankrupt KrasAir and AirUnion, therefore the regional authorities decided to create a brand new legal entity clear of any debts. Another advantage of such a decision is excluding Abramovich brothers from the list of owners of the new enterprise.
The regional governor says “Stop!”
Authorities of Krasnoyarsk Region expressed dissatisfaction with the activities of owners of Boguchans hydroelectric power plant – RusHydro and RUSAL. Both companies exchange accusations while the project debts continue to accumulate. Thus, the power plant already owes nearly 1 billion rubles to subcontractors.
Governor Alexander Khloponin voiced out serious critiques against both RusHydro and RUSAL. He even spoke about finding other companies able to finish construction works at the facility.
Energy complex of Kuzbass
Kemerovo Region received additional financial support for its coal mining industry from the federal budget. “Support of one mine is several times cheaper than its conservation, meanwhile operating mine provides a thousand jobs for miners and their families”, the first deputy chairman of the Committee on industrial policy of the Council of Federation, Sergey Shatirov commented. The new scheme will reimburse the mining companies for pay off bank interest, VAT, and some energy supply expenses.
Kemerovo Region also waits for the continuation of construction of an oil processing plant in Yaisk area. According to the estimations of Valery Smolego, vice-governor of Kuzbass, the volume of investments into the oil production complex in Kuzbass will grow by 2.4 times and make 6 billion rubles in 2009.
Altai’s potential governors
Presidential envoy in the Siberian Federal District Anatoly Kvashnin forwarded the list of two candidates for the post of the governor of Altai Region to the Russian President for the final approval. The list includes current governor Alexander Karlin and vice-governor Boris Larin.
Political power in the Altai Republic
Chairman of the government of the Republic of Altai spoke against creating a separate political body “Kurultai” for the ethnic minorities of the Republic. “Parallel bodies of power” will create tension just like in the Northern Caucasus, said Alexander Berdnikov. The opposition which insists on creating such a body has been accused of provocation.
Politics in Novosibirsk
Political elite of Novosibirsk lost two of its bright figures. Yury Alaferovsky, head of the United Russia fraction in the regional government, died after a long-lasting illness. Another scandalous local politician Sergey Kibirev has run away and seeks political shelter in Thailand or USA, different sources report. He has been accused of illegal activities with the municipal housing construction foundation.
Land in Omsk
Omsk Region tried to solve land related issues. Mayor’s office of Omsk applied to court against a number of big construction companies, which don’t pay rent for their premises. Debts have reached nearly 1 million rubles.
Prosecutor’s office of Russko-Polyansky territory of Omsk Region started a criminal case against Viktor Lysyi, general director of an agricultural entity. He is accused of abusing his power and selling 13 thousand hectares of land at very low prices.
Seversk nuclear power station
The project of construction a nuclear power station in Seversk, Tomsk Region, has entered the stage of realization. The federal medical and biological agency approved of the location of two energy blocks of the future station in Seversk.
According to the information of governmental concern EnergoAtom, the project has already received the consent from EMERCOM (Russian Ministry of Emergency Situations). All construction and ecological safety documentation of the future station is currently under review at RosTekhNadzor.
