No to temporal government
Government of Zabaikalsky Region has changed its status from interim to primary. Since the creation of a new subject – united Zabaikalsky Region – in May 2008, its government acted according to a temporal scheme. Governor of the region Ravil Geniatulin reported that all the required papers had been signed and approved by the federal agencies. So, the government of the region is now a prime governing structure.
Quarantine
Prosecutor service of Zabaikalsky Region demanded that interdepartmental commission of flu pandemic prevention cancelled its quarantine limitations. According to previous agreements, quarantine had been introduced only in nine districts of the region. Interdepartmental commission had no authority to request to limit free passage of people on the entire territory of the region. Quarantine can be introduced and cancelled only by competent executive officers of the regional and municipal authorities, prosecutor service insists.
Baikal Harbor
Buryatia’s administration identified 5 municipal subjects which will become tourist satellites of the tourist SEZ Baikal Harbor. The list of towns includes Ulan-Ude (main gate to the Republic), Severobaikalsk (north of the Lake), and Tunkinsky district (with mineral water resorts and access to alpine routes to Eastern Sayan Mountains).
Direct paths from the federal special economic zone Baikal Harbor will be created to link it with its satellites. The regional government will grant tax exemptions and lower rent rates for the residents of the regional tourist SEZ. By 2015 Buryatia expects to serve a million of tourists a year.
Road accidents
Two car accidents shocked Eastern Siberia last week. Daughter of the central election commission of Irkutsk Region director hit two passer-bys and crashed in a building. Witnesses report the shocking fact that the young woman looked for car damage first instead of taking care of the victims she hit. One of the injured passer-bys died in a hospital.
The second accident involved a gas-tank truck and a cargo train transporting oil products. Truck driver tried to cross railways despite of the red traffic light and hit the train. Gas-tank and oil cisterns caught fire. People from nearby houses and children from the local kindergarten were evacuated.
Khakasia’s power plant
Sayano-Shushenskaya Power Plant housed a working meeting of a new RusHyndro’s CEO Evgeny Dod, chairman of the Republic Viktor Zimin and deputy minister of the energy complex of Russia Stanislav Svetlitsky.
All works are done according to plan, but I will nevertheless firmly control the entire process of the station’s reconstruction, Evgeny Dod declared. He is going to make regular visits at the power plant.
Cleaning
Prosecutor service of Krasnoyarsk issued an order against the municipal administration. Street cleaning service are not doing there job properly, prosecutor’s office assures. Based on this order the city administration decided to correct the budget and allot more money for street cleaning.
