Novosibirsk news

Nikolai Krasnikov, mayor of Koltsovo (a town of scientists and close neighbor of Novosibirsk) is accused of title abuse and forgery of official documents. From the very beginning this case caused huge public resonance. Many of the local public activists and common citizens stood up for the mayor. Over 1000 people signed a letter to President Dmitry Medvedev asking him for personal supervision of the case and for protection of Nikolai Krasnikov.

Oil deal

Swedish company Malka Oil made the decision to sell its production facility in Tomsk Region (STS-Service) to Gazprom-neft. Malka Oil’s CEO Maks Grinfeld explains the company’s leaving the region by administrative barriers in 2008-2009 and wrong strategy of STS-Service management team.

Malka Oil considered a deal with Alliance Oil, but Gazprom-neft became its final choice. Preliminary agreement was signed on December 1, 2009.

Kemerovo news

Regional administration was the newsmaker in Kuzbass last week. Vice-governor in charge of cooperation with law enforcement agencies Mark Rudnik was dismissed. Valery Pavlov was appointed for this position instead.

The first vice-governor Valentin Mazikin held a meeting in Osinniki, Kemerovo Region, regarding the program of the Energy Ministry of Russia. Vice-mayor of Osinniki was fired for ineffective relocation of people from the territories with insufficient work opportunities.

A resort for German people

Berlin Business Club of investors announced its decision to build a contemporary health resort in the Republic of Altai. Uimonskaya valley (Ust-Koksinsky district of the Republic) has been selected as the resort’s location. German investors plan to construct necessary infrastructure including reconstruction of roads, airport for small crafts and a suspension bridge over the river Multa.

The government of Altai Republic obviously supported the new initiative with much enthusiasm taken that this large-scale project is going to provide new jobs and stable employment for the dwellers of Ust-Koksinsky district. The regional authorities and the Club will sign all required papers before the end of this year, press service reports.

Altai Tractors

Workers of Altai’s Tractor Plant Altrak supported by the Communist Party held a protest meeting in front of the Plant owner’s headquarters, RATM Holding, in Novosibirsk. Over 300 people participated. Back pay of the company currently exceeds 100 million rubles. The workers demanded paying out debts and complained that the management team of Altrak was not doing enough to develop and modernize the Plant’s production.

RATM Holding promised that back pay would be eliminated by March of 2010.
