Tyumen Region

Corrupt official

Ex-employee of Gosenergonadzor Ural Division (federal agency for supervision in energy sector) stole 1.4 million rubles of the budget money. The investigation is conducted by the Prosecutor General of Russia Urals Office. It has been confirmed that ex-official of the agency signed fake contract with Tyumen’s private company for informational and consulting services thus illegally sneaking a large amount of money.

Home loans

Governor of Tyumen Region Alexander Yakushev suggested setting up governmentally supported home loan program for school teachers. The loan’s term will make 20 years and its annual interest rate will be “absolutely small”. Currently there are 15 thousand people in the region who wait to get new apartments.

Bankrupt bank

Tyumen Regional Court of Arbitration recognized local financial establishment, Mega Bank CJSC, bankrupt. Bankruptcy management was been launched for the term of one year. Governmental Corporation “Agency of Endowment Insurance” has been commissioned to fulfill the bankruptcy procedure.

Khanty-Mansiisk Autonomous District

Governor’s intrigue

President of Russia Dmitry Medvedev decided not to appoint Alexander Filipenko for the next term as the District’s governor. The President put forward Natalia Komarova instead.

Yugra’s Duma will vote for the appointment of the new governor on Monday, February 15, 2010.

Car loans

The Bank of Khanty-Mansiisk has started accepting car loans applications under the framework of the governmental subsidies program. The government will partially cover the bank’s annual credit interest. Applicants can participate in the program if they want to purchase a Russian car costing under 600 thousand rubles.

Yamalo-Nenets Autonomous District

Less back pay

Yamal’s prosecutor service worked hard to eliminate back pay in the District. As a result, 23 million rubles of wages debt were paid to workers. The majority of corporate debtors were found in Labytnangi and Nadym. Thus, YamalPlex (a private company based in Labytnangi) owed 2.7 million rubles to 150 of its employees.

Governor’s troubles

30 citizens of Yamal signed a letter addressing President Medvedev asking to leave current governor Yury Neelov for the next term. The disturbance was caused by the surprising news from neighboring Khanty-Mansiisk District, where the President unexpectedly put forward Natalia Komarova for the governor’s position instead of assigning Alexander Filipenko for the next term.

Polar tourism

Authorities of Yamalo-Nenets Autonomous District signed an Agreement with Sofi, a consortium from Finland, in Salekhard last week. According to the Agreement, The Center of Polar Tourism will be created in Salekhard.

Yamal’s authorities plan to build new comfortable hotels and cottage houses to host 1000 tourists, restaurants, entertainment facilities, open air swimming pools, helicopter decks and concert halls in the city.
