Brand name
EKS Managing Company LLC is going to suit St. Petersburg’s company, Intertorg Trading House, for using the brand name Sem’ya, which belongs to EKS. EKS demands 1 million rubles of compensation for the unauthorized use of this brand name.
Sem’ya stands for a network of family-oriented supermarkets in Perm Region. EKS won a similar case in 2005, but since then many other companies employed the word “sem’ya” to entitle their projects and EKS lost the majority of court cases.
