Changes in the government - Kuzbass
Governor of Kuzbass Aman Tuleev dismissed Head Doctor (i.e. director) of the Regional Clinic, one of the largest and most important medical facilities of Kuzbass. There have been too many complaints from patients regarding the actions of the Clinic’s director. Vadim Novikov, vice-governor for social issues, has been appointed new director of the facility. In turn, vice-governor’s seat has been given to ex-director of the healthcare department Aleksey Sergeev.
“Wild” tourism
Republic of Altai Ministry of Tourism and Entrepreneurship announced results of 2009 tourist season. The number of tourists coming to the Republic stayed the same as last year, 950 thousand people from January through September. Despite of this fact, the number of flights reduced by 2-3 times. Whereas the number of unorganized “wild” tours increased by 30%.
Authorities of the Republic were able to interfere into the independent travel trend by creating five camping spots to meet the needs of campers.
Changes in the government – Altai
Altai region administration undergoes re-structuring. Four new departments were created to replace old administrative divisions: department of governmental service and staff, department of legal issues, department of paperwork processing and department for work with civil society institutions.
