Gambling zone in Altai
Head of Economics of Altai Region signed rent contracts for two land lots with the first company-resident of the gambling zone “Sibirskaya Moneta” – ALPI Company from Kemerovo. The resident plans to build a hotel for 100 rooms with a casino and a business-class hotel complex for 10 rooms on each site.
ALPI is going to invest the total of 420 million rubles into the project. Annual rent pay for the land lots is over 500 thousand rubles. Regional administration also reports that a number of foreign companies have expressed interest in starting their own construction projects in this gambling zone.
Head of the Republic
State Assembly of Altai Republic approved Alexander Berdnikov for the second term as the Head of the Republic. He was chosen for this position and approved by President Dmitry Medvedev.
Governor of Altai Republic promised to continue implementation of projects aiming to develop tourism, agriculture, energy industry and transport infrastructure in Altai.
Coming elections
Major political parties of Novosibirsk confirmed their lists of candidates to participate in the City Duma elections. Communist Party submitted applications for their candidates to 36 out of 40 election districts of the city. Liberal Democratic Party will participate in the elections in 38 districts, whereas United Russia has candidates for all 40 election sites.
Mayor’s elections in Omsk
United Russia Party officially announcement its candidate for the mayor’s seat in Omsk. The party is going to support current mayor Viktor Shreider and put him forward for the second term.
The second candidate for this position is also a member of United Russia Igor Zuga, general director of Omskneftechemproject Company. He submitted application as an independent candidate. This decision has already brought him to conflict with his political party. However, it is rumored that the governor of the region Leonid Polezhaev unofficially supports Igor Zuga, because strengthening of the current mayor is not in the governor’s interests.
Tomsk budget
Financial department of Tomsk Region published new information about budget execution in 2009. Instead of the planned deficit of 435 million rubles the region ended up with budget surplus of 392 millions.
The main source of financial income has been the federal budget, which provided for 38.7% of the regional budget’s earnings. Personal income tax, profits tax and property tax are other considerable sources of financial inflow. At the moment internal debt of Tomsk Region estimates 7 billion rubles. 60% of the debt is in governmental bonds, 28 percent are credit obligations in state banks.
