Mine Company moves
Coal Company “Belon” undergoes serious re-organization. Its general director has changed, as well as the board of directors after Belon was purchased by MMK (Magnitogorsk Iron and Steel Works).
New owners consider it unwise to station headquarters of the company in Novosibirsk, while its profile assets are located in Kemerovo Region. Therefore, Belon’s new administration will soon move to Belovo in Kuzbass.
Visit of Sergey Mironov
Sergey Mironov, speaker of the Council of the Federation, and vice-chairman of the State Duma of Russia Svetlana Zhurova visited Altai Region last week. Sergey Mironov commented the statement of Boris Gryzlov made a day before regarding possible union of the regions with critique. In Mironov’s opinion, such a merge will not improve the regions’ economic and social situation. He also confirmed there are no plans to unite Altai Region and the Republic of Altai into one federal subject.
Annual reports
Mayor of Novosibirsk Vladimir Gorodetsky and governor of Novosibirsk Region Viktor Tolokonsky delivered their end of the year reports last week. Both spoke about the plans for the future. The mayor promised to eliminate shabby houses in the term of five years. The governor announced plans to reduce the number of poor people in the region from 17 to 8 percent of population.
What to do?
Governor of Tomsk Region Viktor Kress started a new topic in his personal online blog last week. He initiated public discussion of the destiny of sobering-up facilities. According to Kress, this sphere is generally ignored by militia, healthcare and social aid systems. The governor offered his readers to put forward options for the future development of such facilities.
