Governor of Kuzbass
The term of Aman Tuleev, current governor of Kuzbass, will come to an end on April 20, 2010. Kemerovo Region is expecting the new governor to be appointed soon. The region’s ruling party United Russia has already submitted the list of three candidates for the approval of the Russian President. The list includes current governor Aman Tuleev, deputy governor Valentin Mazikin and State Duma deputy Sergey Neverov.
Political experts separated into two camps. Some of the observers tend to estimate Sergey Neverov as a serious rival to the current governor. Others hold the opinion that Aman Tuleev is the only strong candidate in the presented list.
Poultry industry in Altai
Altai’s poultry producer (Altai’s Broiler) had a new director appointed. Three weeks ago there were multiple cases of food poisoning among the staff of Altai’s Broiler due to director’s negligence. Chairman of the company’s board of directors announced last week that owners of Altai’s Broiler (Prioskolie Holding) appointed their representative to be new director of Altai’s facility.
The case of Tolmachevo
Prosecutor service for transport affairs announced results of the investigation it conducted in regard to ex-CEO of the airport Tolmachevo in Novosibirsk. Aleksey Chertenkov, general director of the facility, and his deputy are accused of corrupt business practices, namely, of extorting money from the lease holder of the airport.
Both suspects recently returned from abroad and Aleksey Chertenkov started to cooperate with the law enforcement agency. The case is now ready to be heard at court.
Industrial clusters
Authorities of Omsk Region announced prognosis of the economic development of the region for 2010. The data are quite optimistic. Growth of industrial production is expected to make 5 percent. Average salary will rise by 15 %. Energy-output ratio is expected to reduce by 20 percent.
Impressive results like these are dependent on the development of the four industrial clusters of the region: oil processing, farming, timber production and silicon-related production.
Regional authorities also consider that the growth of volume of innovative products will reach 20 percent equaling 7 billion rubles in cash. This mainly concerns the sphere of knowledge-intensive machine-building servicing transport and oil sectors.
The most prospective production types are passenger and cargo self-propelled platforms “Arctica”, flexible gear carts, intelligent management systems for energy resources, power units for electric wagons of the new generation, and complexes of continuous control for trunk pipelines.
