Perm’s buses
News feeds of Perm concentrated on the bus problem for the most of the last week. Commotion started when several transport companies refused to transport privileged passengers in their buses. They motivated the refusal by the fact that the city administration did not put any reimbursement money for them into the budget. Perm’s administration acted quite firmly at first, letting law reinforcement officials to start up cases against several drivers and bus conductors. However by the end of the week both parties agreed to meet, more negotiations are expected this week.
Golden reserve
On February 17 a list of persons included in the reserve of personnel of the President was published on the President Medvedev’s website. Four people from the Perm region were included – Chairman of the regional government Valery Sukhih, General Director of UralKalii Vladislav Baumgertner, ex-Senator for the region Tatyana Popova and Director of the Department of the Ministry of Regional Development Maksim Reshetnikov. Political consultant and Chairman of the supervisory board of Baxter Group Dmitry Gusev told UralPolit.Ru that this list aims at providing stability of state power. “You can see here future governors, ministers, heads of the federal agencies and presidential envoys there”, Mr. Gusev explained.
New representative
In light of such HR news, it should be noted that Tatyana Tyurina was appointed new Director of Perm Region’s representative office in the government of Russia. The Office’s former director, Ilya Adamsky, was appointed General Director of OJSC “Agency of investment support for the Perm Region”.
Sport news
Last week it became known that the regional sport clubs had been cut on financial support from the budget in 2009. Instead of 450 million rubles they will be getting 305. This fact made the clubs serious correct their expenses.
Coach office of the regional basketball club Ural-Great resigned last week. Experts related resignation to the financial problems, however the official reason state it was low efficiency of the team play that resulted in coaches’ resignation.
Monopolists
Commission of the federal anti-monopoly service drew up official decision on February 16, 2009 in regard to a group of companies – LUKoil-Aero and LUKoil-Permnefteorgsintez – which violated the law on protection of free competition. The commission determined that these companies were maintaining exceedingly high price for aviation fuel in the Bolshoe Savino airport. The companies are now subject to investigation under administrative case of violation.
Regional incomes
Perm’s Statistics published information on the average incomes in the region for January 2009. Total income of the citizens estimates 32 905.5 million rubles (12 105,6 rubles average per person), which is 5.6% more than in January 2008. However, real income reduced by 8.5%, people’s expenses grew by 15.7% compared to January last year.
