Korkino accident
The governor of the region Pyotr Sumin interrupted his vacation to supervise the situation in Korkino. On the night of April 4 methane blew up in a mine there. Gas explosion occurred at the depth of 500 meters. 2 workers were hospitalized with burns, but their lives are out of danger now. Other workers (38 people total were down the mine on the night of the blow) did not need medical care.
Works in the mine are restored. Meanwhile, a special commission investigates the reasons of explosion. Pre-investigation check-up has been conducted by the prosecutor’s office and a criminal case has been opened, the charge is violation of safety regulations causing serious damage of a person’s health.
Regional agricultural complex
Russia plans to increase meat production by 4.5 times in 4 years. The federal budget allocates 19 billion rubles for this purpose. Minister of agriculture of Chelyabinsk Region Ivan Feklin traveled to Rostov-on-Don to participate in a meeting chaired by Viktor Zubkov, deputy chairman of the government of Russia. Minister of agriculture of Russia Elena Skrynnik was also present.
Production of meat in the region accounted to 160 thousand tons in 2006 and increased up to 264 thousand tons in 2008. Poultry meat production estimated 142 thousand tons in 2008, which is 7 times more than in 2000. Such results bring Chelyabinsk Region to the 4th place in poultry production in Russia.
Cattle breeding stock doubled in the past 3 years and now makes 13.8 thousand. Total number of cattle in the regional farms reaches 52.7 thousand animals. There are 7 beef-cattle breeding farms and 3 breed reproduction enterprises. It is planned to double the number of breeding farms by 2013.
Starting 2009 all milk and meat producers will get federal subsidies in the amount of 100% refinancing rate of the Central Bank for their credits and 3% of the bank’s rate from the regional budget. Chelyabinsk Region has already received 72 million rubles to pay subsidies for cattle breeding enterprises.
The government is also ready to amend agricultural law in the part that regulates the share of agricultural raw material in the final cost of products. The law will be reviewed in October 2009, Viktor Zubkov declared.
Program of replacing imported meat by domestic products will also be launched this year. This will provide market advantages for local producers.
The best professionals will help build subway in Chelyabinsk
President of the Association of Construction Workers Nikolai Koshman arrived in Chelyabinsk on April 10. In a meeting with the governor Sumin, Koshman underlined the importance of constructing underground in Chelyabinsk, which is a home to over one million people.
After looking into the local situation Nikolai Koshman acknowledged that there were problems with tunnel building works.
New plan of works will be developed in every detail and will be controlled by the ministry of construction and roads, and by the governor personally.
Arkaim as the center of occult tourism
There is a very popular tourist location – archeological site Arkaim in the territory of Chelyabinsk Region. The site’s popularity brought it to the major TV channel of Russia. The discussion involved discoverer of Arkaim Professor Gennady Zdanovich, other scientists and occult tourists.
Although the place is acknowledged to be a unique archeological monument of great importance, Arkaim has also aroused a lot of modern mythology and occultism. This is the main reason why the scientific community and Russian Orthodox Church disapprove of Arkaim’s pioneer and his followers.
“We are very concerned that the vector of development of these processes lies in a pointedly anti-Christian course”, says Konstantin Putnik, missioner department deputy director of the local eparchy.
