Nightclub case closed
Chief investigation office finished investigation of one of the loudest criminal cases of recent years in Russia - fire in the nightclub “Khromaya Loshad”. Over 400 people are recognized victims of the tragic accident.
Eight people are accused of committing the crime – co-founder of the club, executive director, art director, fire show providers, three inspectors of fire safety control. One of the accused persons is on the wanted list.
General Prosecution of Russia will review all evidence of the case to finalize it before filing a court suit.
Election of mayors
Members of the Coalition “For Direct Elections in Perm” filed a claim in District Court of Perm against amendments recently made by the City Duma. Amendments were adopted by Perm’s City Duma on June 29, 2010 and will come into effect on the 1st of September.
Starting this date, elections of mayors in Perm will cease to be direct and general. Instead, Duma deputies will select one of their team to be a mayor.
The Coalition aims to cancel these legislative changes through court.
Sberbank against Nytva
Sberbank (Savings Bank of Russia) filed suit against the decision made by creditors general meeting in regard to Nytva JSC (Nytva Metallurgic Works). Creditors of the enterprise decided to restructure debts and to strike settlement agreement with the company.
Nytva JSC owes 230 million rubles to Sberbank. Financial establishment does not want to wait until the debtor recovers from the crisis. Sberbank also does not like the terms of loan pay-off agreed upon in the settlement agreement.
Federal antimonopoly service
Regional ministry of entrepreneurship and trade submitted claim to Perm’s division of the federal antimonopoly service. The ministry suspects participants of one of its auctions in conspiracy in restraint of trade.
The auction was held by the ministry to find providers for services of safety, protection and reproduction of forests.
FAS started 7 cases against 12 participants of the auction in response to the ministry’s claim.
Accusatory decree
Perm Regional Court issued accusatory decree against deputy director of provision department of regional militia service. Valery Sitkevich has been sentenced to 7 years of imprisonment, deprived of his rank and of the right to work in law enforcement agencies for three years. Additionally he is obliged to pay a fine of 480 thousand rubles.
