Kuzbass cement
Governor of Kuzbass Aman Tuleev sent an official message to the president of the Holding “Siberian Cement” Oleg Sharykin. It states that the company has been raising cement prices unreasonably thus putting construction companies in a disadvantaged position on the market and therefore effecting regional budget in a negative way.
The governor promised to ask competent state bodies to check pricing policy of the Holding.
New old governor
President of Russia Dmitry Medvedev offered the Legislative Assembly of Altai Region to approve its current governor Alexander Karlin for the second term. According to Russian law, deputies have 14 days to draw up a decision.
Next governor of Altai Region will be the last head of the region elected according to an old procedure when candidates for this post are suggested by presidential envoys. Pursuant to amendments in federal legislation, such candidates will be put forward by the political party which wins elects in a subject of the Federation.
Blown with the squall wind
On July 21, 2009 Novosibirsk experienced squall wind which seriously damaged communications in the city. The storm broke 175 electricity lines, about 40 trees fell on roads and house roofs. The mayor’s office will allocate 10 million rubles to cover repair works expenses.
Black Day in Tomsk
Last week became a week of mourning in Tomsk Region. A tourist bus driving from Tomsk to Altai Region crashed killing 8 people and traumatizing 38 more passengers. Road police accused the bus driver of violating traffic safety regulations and put him under arrest. July 22 was announced a mourning day in the region.
Omsk airports
Government of Russia officially announced transfer of 85.265% of shares of OJSC Omsk Airport to Omsk Region government. Apart from this fully functioning airport the local authorities also became owner of the airport Omsk-Fedorovka, which is under construction at the time being.
Ministry of Transport and Communications Economy of Omsk Region reports that no changes are yet planned among the management team of the airport. However the board of directors will have to decide upon the term of the current general director, whether it should be terminated or not.
FAS decision
Antimonopoly service of Krasnoyarsk Region granted an appeal submitted by RUSAL Energostroi LLC, OJSC Sibirsky ENTS and CJSC Siborgenergostroi against the actions of the Ministry of Industry and Energy of Krasnoyarsk Region.
The Ministry announced open competition for the development of a technical project for a power line construction. But 10 out of 11 companies which applied for participation have been rejected entering due to various vague causes. Antimonopoly service recognized that the ministry officials violated administrative procedures.
