Alcohol at night
Deputies of the government of the Republic of Altai were not able to cancel the veto interposed by the Head of the Republic Aleksandr Berdnikov on the bill regarding alcohol sales during night hours. Only 11 deputies voted against the veto, instead of the required 28.
“If we prohibit the licensed stores to sell alcohol in the night, we will see dramatic increase of a number of illegal spots of sale of surrogate alcohol, where it is impossible to control safety of the product”, Aleksandr Berdnikov argued referring to his experience as an internal affairs officer.
Turquiose Katun project was approved
Governmental expert commission of the Altai Region issued positive decision regarding the project of the special economic zone Turquoise Katun (Biryuzovaya Katun). 22 experts signed the decree acknowledging its compliance with the territorial and legal regulations of the Russian Federation. The project will be transferred to the Administration of the Altai Region and federal commission for finalization. The list of objects for construction for 2009 will also be completed as well as the amount of required investments.
Electricity networks of Krasnoyarsk Region
LLC Global Insulator Group opened a representative office in Siberia, which will deal with insulators and line hardware supplies in Krasnoyarsk Region. Resource map and venture capital fund of Kuzbass
Regional department of economic development of the Kemerovo Region prepared a project of the first resource map of Kuzbass within the framework of the program aimed at increasing investment attractiveness of the area. The map will feature all actual investment projects and will be available online. Potential investors will be able to acquire all details about investment sites from one source.
The map will also include information on the municipal structure, infrastructure, industry and agriculture outline, natural resources and demography of the region.
Board of directors of OJSC Kuzbass Techno-Park adopted the plan of creation of a venture capital fund. “Technological park was created in a very short time by the combined efforts of the regional authorities, scientists and big businesses. It is the biggest regional project as of today”, declared Valentine Mazikin, the first deputy governor of the Kemerovo Region. Venture capital fund of approximately 1 billion rubles is viewed as an effective instrument of stimulating investments into the project.
Gold from Irkutsk found in Novosibirsk
Federal security service in the Novosibirsk Region recovered over 16 kilograms of natural gold which was illegally transported from gold mines of the Irkutsk Region. The first courier was caught back in June with 6 kilograms of gold. Due to the professional organization of the operation other members of the criminal group did not know they were under observation. Therefore two more couriers were caught on the same route with over 9.5 kilograms of gold. The total amount of gold dust, concentrate and nuggets is evaluated at 9.5 million rubles. This is the biggest lot ever recovered in the region.
Putin will open Northern bypass
It was announced last week in Novosibirsk that the Prime Minister Vladimir Putin would arrive to the city in the middle of October for the opening of the first section of a bypass route around the city. However, no commentaries, either confirming or rejecting this information, were received from the governor’s office.

Demolition of an illegally constructed building was completed in Tomsk last week. The building was constructed without the required permissions on the territory of the Tomsk special economic zone. As deputy mayor of Tomsk Evgeny Parshuto explained, “Administration of Tomsk started to get rid of the buildings constructed against regulations and without permission”.
