Law-enforcement agencies of Novosibirsk continue to hunt for corrupt officials. Vice mayor of Novosibirsk Alexander Solodkin became a subject of criminal proceedings. His location was finally identified last week. He relocated from Moscow’s cardiologic center to a different hospital.
The second official under suspicion is Nikolay Krasnikov, mayor of Koltsovo – a small scientific community 15 minutes away from Novosibirsk. He is suspected in wasteful spending of the municipal money. However, independent observers and his friends and colleagues refer this accusation to the coming mayor’s elections rather than actual misdeeds of Nikolay Krasnikov.

Ministry of Regional Development of Russia approved of the plans of federal financing of road and infrastructure construction in the special economic zone in Tomsk. This SEZ belongs to technical type and will receive 2.3 billion rubles before the end of 2009 and 2.1 billions in 2010.
Meanwhile general director of Tomsk SEZ Anatoly Ovsyannikov provided report from the construction site of an Engineering Center of the zone. The frame of this building is finished. It is a monolithic frame which will allow any kind of designs inside the building total square of which amounts to 18 thousand square meters.

Court of Kemerovo Region recognized Andrey Korovin, director of South Kuzbass JSC mines, guilty of violating accident prevention regulations. He was aware of the pre-emergency condition in one of the mines, but he did not stop works and did not order mine workers to go out. This violation of safety rules lead to the death of 5 workers under fallen mine roof. Andrey Korovin was sentenced to 3 years and 8 months of imprisonment to spend in a colony-settlement.

President of Russia Dmitry Medvedev received the list of candidates suggested for the position of the head of Altai Republic. The list includes current head of the Republic Alexander Berdnikov, chairman of El Kurultai (Altai’s parliament) Ivan Belekov and chairman of the federal medical insurance fund Andrey Yurin. The term of service of Alexander Berdnikov will be over in January 2010, so the Republic will soon learn the name of its new governor.
